NEWCOMERS CLIMBING MEET - SATURDAY 18th APRIL - STANAGE POPULAR
UPDATE: SATURDAY LOOKS OK WEATHER WISE (probably!) - so we will go for it that day.
This meet is for non-members / prospective members who want to meet club members and each other and see what we are all about. It is also a great meet for newer recent members to come along to; we usually have a good turnout from some of the experienced hands.
Experienced Hands: If you have them, please bring a pair of half ropes; you can persuade someone without one to carry the second one in for you.
New folk: Helmet, Harness, Rockshoes are the bare essentials.
Meet up to leave from Hooks car park (Popular end) at 09.30 a.m. Arriving closer to 9 am will make it more likely to find a spot. Car Share if that works for you. Please note this is now a PAY AND DISPLAY! From there, it’s a short walk-in to Manchester Buttress and the uber-popular end of Stanage. We’ll base ourselves around that area most of the day, with teams moving leftwards towards Christmas crack/Black Slab and further as the day wears on. Most years, there are Ring Ouzel bird nesting restrictions – so we’ll see where this is at on the day – check the RAD link below. We’ll head to The Scotsmans Pack pub in Hathersage after for a quick natter over a drink for about 5 / 5.30ish. Keep your eye on the WhatsApp groups for up-to-date chatter, info, lift shares and general banter…..
