BritRock Film Tour including the CAC Documentary: BEYOND – Dominic Oughton and a cast of stars

The 2026 BritRock Film Tour arrives at SummitUp with a collection of four brand-new climbing and adventure films bringing together world-class athletes, extraordinary locations and some seriously inspiring stories.

Of particular interest to Rucksack Club and KMC members, the tour features the Climbers Against Cancer documentary, BEYOND – following people living with and beyond cancer as they discover strength, connection and a new sense of possibility through climbing. Moving between indoor climbing walls and wild mountain rock, the film explores how climbing can become part of a journey of recovery, confidence and adventure. BEYOND was largely filmed right here at Summit Up, featuring participants from our Climbing Beyond Cancer course and the occasional cameo appearance by Rucksacker Dom. Members of the cast and the filmmaker will be on hand for Q&A.

The three other films will also be brilliant!

INSIDE THE MOUNTAIN – Follow Olympian Molly Thompson-Smith and climbing legend Steve McClure as they take on one of Britain’s wildest free climbs – not on a mountain or sea cliff, but inside one of Britain’s deepest open caveshafts.

DREAMRIME – Prepare to see Patagonia like you’ve never seen it before. Filmed around the spectacular Cerro Torre towers, DREAMRIME follows a team of French alpinists attempting the Punta Hernon/Torre Egger traverse, navigating the incredible ice and rime formations unique to this remote part of the world.

JOURNEY TO THE END OF THE EGO – Follow climber Franco Cookson as he spends 105 days working towards an ascent of Nothing is Lost, an E12 7a on the dramatic cliffs of Ben Loyal.

The venue for all this entertainment is Summit Up Climbing Wall in Oldham so why not get there early and get in a few routes?

These shows are OPEN TO ALL and FREE to everyone (apart from the BritRock event), regardless of whether you are a Rucksack Club or KMC member or not. Doors open at 7pm and the show starts at 7:30pm with voluntary donations and a raffle in support of a different climbing related charity at each event. Note the earlier start time of 7pm for the BritRock screening on 3 December.

If you like your slideshow accompanied with a little refreshment, you can bring your own booze, and the Summit Up cafe will be serving brews, cakes and pizza before the show.

If you can’t make it in person, the shows (apart from Brit Rock) will also all be on Zoom so you can enjoy them from the comfort of your sofa.
