Lundy

Mich

Want some world-class, sea cliff climbing on high-quality granite? Then you’re in the right place! An adventure on Lundy! The perfect, remote, unspoilt granite island measuring three miles long and about half a mile wide in the Bristol Channel, off the coast of North Devon.

Come join for an extravaganza week of frolicking on and around this beautiful island as the mood takes.

There’s more to Lundy than just climbing. With around 140 different species recorded each year, bird watching is twittertastic, sea swimming and snorkelling can by enjoyed in the UK's first Marine Nature Reserve, you can ‘hike’ the 14-kilometre circular coast path, walk across to Rat Island at low tide or even go on an exciting Lundy Letterboxing adventure! Also being an officially recognised Dark Sky Discovery Site, Lundy it one of the best locations in England for stargazing and astrophotography due to its complete lack of cars, roads, and local light pollution! Frequenting the one and only pub on the island will, unfortunately, be an unavoidable aspect of the trip. I just hope the Ale is good! Supplies can be stocked up at the Lundy general stores, but apart from those, and the tiny St Helen's visitor Centre, there are no other shops or businesses on the island and very little phone signal - so come prepared!

Camping needs to be booked in advance:

There are only 40 pitches, so if you are keen to go, get in! There are a number of properties on the island to rent, managed by the landmark trust:

But who wants to miss the fun at the campsite?!

When accommodation is booked, a place of the ferry is automatically reserved for you. The ferry can be booked nearer the time by calling the office on 01271 863636. You can pre-order food or supplies to be delivered to your accommodation and when you arrive at the port, luggage is transferred separately to your property – you just need to be able to carry it all onto the boat!

The two-hour crossing, leaving from Bideford at 9am should allow for a full-afternoon of climbing on arrival.

I’m well excited and have already booked my pitch. Looking forward to a great week!

Any questions, give me a shout.
