Set high up in the Bleaklow area, the steep, long and imposing crack lines combined with an approach akin to climbing in the Lakes make Shining Clough one of the finest crags in the Peak.

Many of the routes here were the original work of the Karabiner Mountaineering Club.

Approach is generally from the parking located on the South side of the dam between Woodhead Reservoir and Torside Reservoir.

I should be able to arrive at the parking for 16:30. If people want to meet here we could set off on the approach together 17:00 prompt.

If the weather is less than favourable I’d be happy to go for a long walk/run depending who else is coming and wants to get outdoors for the evening.
