Meet Attendees: Roger Mapleson, Iain Bell, Nathalie LaCroix, Caroline Gay & me.
Nathalie was a little delayed arriving, which was perfect as it meant we set out in the dry a fortuitous start.
We stuck to the planned route, well almost, a little detour to Kinder Low trig point was in order.
This was advertised as a social pace run, that meant I could breathe and occasionally talk. Roger got the prize for the most running up William Clough almost making the very top….. I definitely could not talk during this phase of the activities.
Once getting to the top of Williams Clough and my heart returning to a more normal rate we made our way up the final steps and on to the downfall via Sandy Heys. The Downfall was actually living up to its name today with none blowing back on us.
From the Downfall it was on to Kinder Low via Red Brook, In and out of cloud.
After coming off the steep steps at Kinder Low end all that was left was to enjoy the final very runnable section of slippy grass down to Tunstead Clough farm and then back to Bowden Bridge, fell shoes definitely helped here.
A search for a café then ensued, there appear to be none left in Hayfield… we made our way to the main carpark to enjoy an excellent bacon sandwich and coffee @ guzzlecaravan
We had a good run out today in predominantly dry weather and pretty mild….. my first run of over 5km in 10 months so pleased to get round 12.5Km and 540m asc.
Thanks to all that came out today
